New Fairfield Public Schools

In 6th grade, students got a jump start on important skills during their STEAM class with Mrs. Kulbieda. They worked as a team on a building challenge to practice these skills they will use each class. Two of the key components to being part of a group-focused atmosphere are collaboration and problem solving. This requires creativity, innovation and thinking outside the box, but also being able to develop a plan and execute it as a team. In the Tower Challenge, teams had twenty five minutes to work together to construct a wood stick tower. The winning team had the tallest tower standing unassisted.
